At the end of every stage the creature or species of the player will be assigned a characteristics. The assigned characteristic varies depending on how the stage is played. The first stage in Spore gaming is Cell stage or also called cellular, tide pool and microbial stage. In this stage it is where all the players species begin to form. In here you will have the chance to watch a demonstration of panspermia scientific concept. Prior to that you will be able to choose what type of specie you will create, carnivore or herbivore.
As you progress you will be able to evolve as an omnivore or change the appearance of your specie by entering the creature editor of the game. Cell stage has other five sub stages. In every sub stages, the specie will grow larger. When your specie dies, you can start again.
The next stage is called Creature. In this stage the specie can evolve its whole body or any parts in the creator editor. You can form a pack by interacting to other species. Other creatures are rouge and epic, rouge creatures have outstanding statistics and can be easily befriended making them valuable for a pack while epic creatures are enormous in size and cannot befriended.
The third and fourth stage is called tribal and civilization stage. The former one the specie is assigned in different roles in fishing, hunting or gathering. The latter allows player to form civilization and cities. It is the modern era of Spore gaming. The fifth and last stage is Space stage. The creature can now go and explore as far as to other galaxy and planets with their special tools.
